Spooky Muddy Buddies

Show of hands, does anyone else call this Puppy Chow?

I figured I should use the more generic name for this dessert treat- Muddy Buddies.

And why not theme it for Halloween by adding some Halloween color and treats to it?

Now I know many people aren't fans of candy corn. Personally, I love candy corn. Luckily, it will be easy to pick them out if you don't like them.

These Spooky Muddy Buddies are so easy to make. It takes no time at all, and even your kids can help you make it!

How to Make Spooky Muddy Buddies

Put the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave it in 30 second intervals until it is completely melted. Stir it well after each 30 second mark so you don't overcook and burn the mixture.

Add the vanilla into the chocolate peanut butter mix and stir it in.

Pour the Rice Chex cereal into a LARGE bowl. Emphasis on large. The bigger the better. I used a bowl *just* big enough and made a huge mess.

Pour the chocolate peanut butter mixture on top of the cereal. Stir it well to ensure that each cereal piece gets coated in the chocolate.

While the chocolate is still warm, add the powder sugar. Stir it well again so that the powder sugar coats each piece of cereal.

Add the mix ins! I used Reese's Pieces (because of their Halloween colors), mini Reese's, candy corn, and candy pumpkins. Stir it all in! I didn't measure any of these. I fully believe these should be measured with the heart.

And that's it! If you aren't serving it until a later time, cover it up. Otherwise grab a bowl and enjoy!
