If you truly want a decadent, sinful dessert in your life, look no further than these peanut butter brownies. I load these up with peanut butter while still enjoying the fudgy brownie taste.
Put the brown sugar, regular sugar, melted butter, and vegetable oil in a bowl. Use a whisk to stir it together. Stir it for a couple minutes to combine it well. The color will lighten up slightly as you whisk it.
Next, add the eggs and vanilla. Continue whisking it for a couple more minutes and it will continue to lighten in color.
Next, we are going to fold in the dry ingredients- the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. You don’t want to stir it in !Folding in the ingredients will keep from too much air forming in the mix, which would allow the brownies to rise and get rid of that fudgy texture.
Folding in means using a rubber spatula and making a folding motion to mix the ingredients. To try to put it into words, you will start with the spatula at the bottom of the bowl, then lift it gently up and over. Think of how a tidal wave moves- that’s the same motion you will use while folding.
See my quick video on folding in here!
Fold in the dry ingredients until they are just mixed in. Don’t mix it past the combinationof all the ingredients.
Prepare your pan (I use a 10x10 pan, but you can use a 9x9, or a 9x13) by either liningit with parchment paper or spraying it well with nonstick spray. Pour half of the brownie batter in and spread it out evenly.
Add dollops of peanut butter on top of the brownie batter. Add the rest of the brownie batter on top, then some more peanut butter. Swirl it all around with a butter knife.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45minutes. To tell if they are done, stick a toothpick into the center of the brownies. It won’t come out clean, but it should come out with some batter and some crumbs. If it just looks like batter on the toothpick, bake it for another 5 minutes until you can stick the toothpick in and see some crumbs come out.
Let it cool completely before cutting and serving. I drizzled chocolate, melted peanut butter, and some sea salt on top of mine.
These fudgy brownies are swirled with peanut butter, resulting in a decadent, delicious brownie!
