I have never made peach cobbler, nor had I ever eaten peach cobbler, before making this one time. And not to be too braggy, but I nailed it, and then ate about half the dish.
Don’t judge me.
But where has this been all my life?! It is so good, and I topped it with some vanilla ice cream while the cobbler was still warm, and it was *chefs kiss*.
A crisp has a streusel topping, normally made with sugar and oats.
A cobbler is more like a cake mixed with cooked fruits.
Both of them use fruit. You can really do any kind of fruit with either one.
Peal and slice your peaches and add them to a pot. Add in sugar, brown sugar, salt, and lemon juice.
Cook this over medium heat until the sugar turns into a liquid and the peaches start to soften.
While that is cooking, take the stick of butter and put it in the dish you will be using for your peach cobbler. Turn on the oven to 350 degrees F, and while the oven is preheating, put the dish in the oven. While it is preheating, it is going to melt your butter for you.
In a bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and cinnamon, and stir it together.
When the butter has melted, pour the batter into the pan and stir it together. It isn’t going to completely combine and that is ok!
Pour the cooked peaches on top.
Put in the oven for 40 minutes. Let it cool, but it is best served warm with vanilla ice cream.
Peach cobbler is a great summer dessert. It is best eaten warm and with ice cream.
