There’s not much to say about Oreo Brownies aside from describing how delicious they are.
Imagine you are at your favorite place in the world, and the sun is shining on your face. You are warm, but not too hot, just perfect. You are eating your favorite food, drinking your favorite drink, and you think about how happy you are in that moment.
That’s how you will feel eating these Oreo Brownies.
May I be exaggerating? Perhaps a little. But these are so dang good.
These are really easy to make. We are using my Fudgy Brownie recipe, and literally just adding crushed Oreos to it.
Put the brown sugar, regular sugar, melted butter, and vegetable oil in a bowl. Use a whisk to stir it together. Stir it for a couple minutes to combine it well. The color will lighten up slightly as you whisk it.
Next, add the eggs and vanilla. Continue whisking it for a couple more minutes and it will continue to lighten in color.
Next, we are going to fold in the dry ingredients- the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. You don’t want to stir it in! Folding in the ngredients will keep from too much air forming in the mix, which would allow the brownies to rise and get rid of that fudgy texture.
Folding in means using a rubber spatula and making a folding motion to mix the ingredients. To try to put it into words, you will start with the spatula at the bottom of the bowl, then lift it gently up and over. Think of how a tidal wave moves- that’s the same motion you will use while folding.
Fold in the dry ingredients until they are just mixed in. Don’t mix it past the combination of all the ingredients.
Crush your Oreos either in a food processor or put them in a Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin or a pot or pan.
Dump ¾ of the crushed Oreos into the brownie batter and mix to combine.
Prepare your pan (I use a 10x10 pan, but you can use a 9x9,or a 9x13) by either lining it with parchment paper or spraying it well with nonstick spray. Pour the brownie batter in and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle the rest of the crushed Oreos on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. To tell if they are done, stick a toothpick into the center of the brownies. It won’t come out clean, but it should come out with some batter and some crumbs. If it just looks like batter on the toothpick, bake it for another 5 minutes until you can stick the toothpick in and see some crumbs come out.
Let it cool completely before cutting and serving.
Oreo Brownies are the ultimate decadent treat! These are easy and quick to make.
